Question: What does NSF stand for and how does it affect my wire products or shelving unit?
Answer: NSF is an abbreviation for a few different organizations including the National Science Foundation and National Sleep Foundation. In the wire shelving industry, it stands for National Sanitary Foundation. Today, it goes by the name of NSF International.
NSF International is a not-for-profit organization that provides product certification for public health and safety, among other things. They standardized food safety and sanitation due to the lack of a national standard in the U.S. The standards set and adopted by NSF International help create a cleaner and more sanitary environment for your products and workplaces. It is a major component and important aspect of food equipment manufacturing.
All of our products have met the criteria and have been tested by NSF International. We take public health seriously and know that you enlist our trust to deliver products that will keep your family, friends, and co-workers protected from spreading germs and bacteria. NSF International is one of the most respected independent certification companies around. We are proud to deliver you products that carry their mark of approval.
The NSF mark appears on all of our wire shelving products.
